DKSH brings Morinaga’s fruity flavors to Cambodia

DKSH, the leading Market Expansion Services provider with a focus on Asia, expands its partnership with Morinaga, the well-known Japanese confectionary company, to Cambodia. The extension of the partnership between the two companies demonstrates DKSH’s ability to roll out success stories from country to country and drive inner-Asian growth.

Phnom Penh, Cambodia, November 1, 2016 – DKSH Business Unit Consumer Goods, the leading Market Expansion Services provider for fast moving consumer goods, will support Morinaga’s product expansion to Cambodia. The agreement is an extension of a regional collaboration that also covers Hong Kong and Singapore. DKSH will provide marketing, sales, distribution and logistics services to enable Morinaga’s market entry to Cambodia’s retail channels. Brands under the agreement include HI-CHEW – Japan’s number one selling soft candy – and the mint drops Chew-Chew-Ball.

Hanji Ikeda, General Manager, Oversea Business Headquarters, Morinaga, said: “With a fast-growing middle class, Cambodia is a very promising market with significant opportunities for Morinaga’s confectionary products. We have been partnering with DKSH for many years in Hong Kong and Singapore and are very much looking forward to extending our cooperation to Cambodia, where we foresee similar success.”

“DKSH,  with  its  pan-Asian  footprint  is  well  positioned  to  help  not  only Western  clients,  but  also Asian clients like Morinaga looking to expand their footprint in Asia. Morinaga benefits from our strong marketing and sales capabilities and capillary distribution network supported by our modern distribution center that we opened in Phnom Penh in 2015,” said Rajinder Grover, Vice President, Business Unit Consumer Goods, DKSH Cambodia.

The recent agreement demonstrates DKSH’s ability to roll out success stories from country to country and further strengthens DKSH’s market position in Cambodia while contributing incrementally to the Group’s earnings and profitability over time.
