The interface DIN 69893 has become the new standard for machining centres. The holder is clamped via its taper with flange contact surface. By doing so, a highly accurate centring and fixed axial position of the holder in the spindle is granted with a high repetitive accuracy when exchanging the tools.

In the DIN 69893-1 HSK-A interface design an additional torque transmission takes place at the taper shank with drive keys. DIN 69893 HSK-A/HSK-E/HSK-F is mainly used in high-speed machining.
