DKSH Strengthens Healthcare Distribution Capabilities in Thailand with Advanced Technology and Strategic Infrastructure

DKSH continues to strengthen its role as a trusted business partner in Thailand’s healthcare sector with advanced logistics technology and strategic infrastructure across three distribution centers to ensure timely and efficient delivery of global and local pharmaceuticals against a growing demand for healthcare products nationwide

Bangkok, Thailand, November 5, 2024 - DKSH Business Unit Healthcare, a Strategic Healthcare Solutions Partner and leading provider of Market Expansion Services for pharmaceutical, over-the-counter (OTC), consumer health and medical device companies, continues to enhance its healthcare distribution capabilities in Thailand with logistics technology and strategic infrastructure across three state-of-the-art healthcare distribution centers: Sripetch Distribution Center (SPDC), Medical Device Distribution Center (MDDC), and Srivarin Distribution Center (SVDC) in Thailand, all of which play an increasingly vital role in ensuring reliable delivery of healthcare products nationwide.

DKSH’s leadership in technology and infrastructure comes at a time in which Thailand’s healthcare supply chain system faces challenges due to demographic shifts and changing lifestyles. Non-communicable diseases continue to be the leading cause of death in Thailand[1] and Thai Citizens have a 14% risk of dying prematurely which means before the age of 70. And placing a further burden on healthcare needs is Thailand trajectory to become APAC’s forth most “super-aged” society by 2031[2].

SPDC—DKSH’s largest healthcare distribution facility in Thailand

Sripetch Distribution Center (SPDC) is helping to address these concerns as DKSH’s largest healthcare distribution facility in Thailand. Since its establishment in 2007, the 52,000-square-meter facility has adhered to the highest international healthcare standards, serving over 200 healthcare clients and more than 40,000 customers across hospitals, clinics, drugstores and pharmacies, modern and traditional trade, and e-Commerce channels nationwide. On a monthly basis, Sripetch Distribution Center handles over 35,000 stock keeping units (SKUs) and 750,000 distribution boxes.

“By investing in advanced technology, we ensure that important healthcare products reach Thai patients quickly and in the best condition. DKSH’s commitment is to continue expanding our presence across Thailand, delivering life-saving medicine and medical equipment, enriching the lives of Thai patients for the better and deliver healthcare for all,” said Patrik Grande, Vice President, Head of Commercial Outsourcing in APAC Region for Business Unit Healthcare, DKSH.

Advanced technologies to enhance speed, accuracy and scalability in healthcare

Equipped with the latest advanced technologies, Sripetch Distribution Center integrates advanced automation and AI to streamline packing and distribution processes, enhancing speed, accuracy and scalability while ensuring products remain secure and protected until they reach customers. Other advanced technologies at the center include D-Pack, a fully automated packing solution that improves operational productivity by 20%, with increased packaging protection, reduced plastic usage by 15% and higher delivery truck utilization; as well as ReSnap, an application designed to capture returns and send daily email updates to clients, speeding up product inspection and eliminating the need for warehouse visits.

"The advanced technologies at Sripetch Distribution Center enable us to manage healthcare logistics with precision, ensuring the timely and reliable delivery of high-quality products across Thailand. With over 120 years of experience in Thailand, we remain committed to continuously investing in innovative and sustainable solutions to meet the needs of our clients, customers, healthcare providers, and ultimately, the patients,” said Vorrapong Surachaikulwattana, Senior Director, Supply Chain Management, DKSH.
