Batteries are an integral part of mobile systems, like smartphones and laptops – but they can also be found storing large quantities of energy in stationary storage systems. These days, electromobility is one of the most significant fields in which they are used, with lithium-ion batteries being increasingly integrated into hybrid and electric vehicles.
Batteries are truly the future of energy storage and to ensure that they perform safely and reliably, they need to be put through their paces in tests. To conduct tests on lithium-ion batteries, BINDER offers temperature and climate chambers equipped with a range of safety packages that are aligned with EUCAR (European Council for Automotive R&D) Hazard Standards, environmental requirements and test types.
Battery test chambers are used in research and development, quality assurance and battery production alike. The packages can be adapted to a variety of BINDER models to meet test requirements relating to temperature range, climate range and test area size.
This involve testing at a certain temperature without the battery load cycle. They are performed within a safe temperature range for the battery.
Various battery-specific parameters, such as the load state, are tested with overlapping temperature ranges. These tests are performed within a safe temperature range for the battery.
Various battery-specific parameters, such as the load state, are tested with overlapping temperature ranges. These tests are performed at the limit of the safe temperature range for the battery. This category also includes tests with higher charging and discharging currents overlapping with constant or dynamic temperatures.
The EUCAR Hazard Standards are used to assess the level of danger associated with handling batteries. They have been defined by EUCAR by classifying the hazards presented to batteries and describing the consequences of them. BINDER offers three packages with additional safety measures based on these effects on batteries.
