Waste Reduction by Utilizing Packaging in the Delivery Process at Supply Chain Management WeCare@DKSH

Across our process, waste is not only generated from goods delivered with packaging but also from incoming shipments. While DKSH has no influence on the packaging of clients products, we aim to keep packaging waste in logistics to a minimum.

Being environmentally conscious, we are continuously implementing the 3R (reuse – reduce – recycle) strategy to optimize our impacts on waste through initiatives. We are continually exploring the potential of eco-friendly packaging materials. In DKSH Vietnam, there has been an initiative to reuse used carton carboard shredded into pieces as the corrugated fillers to replace plastic air pouches or bulble wrap in all our supply chain locations nationwide. By doing so, the company reduces unnecessary plastic usage while utilizing carton waste while still ensuring it meets the requirement for product spacing in delivery. Furthermore, this solution helps not only minimize non-biodegradable waste but also maximize our operational efficiency.

Going forward, we will further enhance waste reporting and our waste management approach by providing granular data regarding different waste categories and recovery status.
