Vietnam has been making significant progress towards meeting United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) outlined at the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development meeting held in 2015.
According to the Voluntary National Review Committee, which outlines the country's roadmap for SDGs implementation, the government is focusing on four goals: eliminating poverty, clean water and sanitation, industry, innovation, and infrastructure, and reducing inequalities.
Aligned with the government’s target to achieve net zero emissions by 2050, DKSH in Vietnam has over the years made significant contributions to promoting sustainability via impactful activities and initiatives toward social improvement and environment protection in Vietnam.
We consistently pursue a low-carbon strategy, which includes purchasing International Renewable Energy Certificates. We are progressing to fully replace halogen lightbulbs with LED bulbs across distribution centers and cross docks in the market by the end of 2023. Other ongoing initiatives include using biodegradable and compostable materials in the packing process and replacing plastic air pouches by using shredded used carton pieces as corrugated fillers.
Our efforts were recognized when DKSH was named as among the Top 50 Sustainable Development Companies at the Corporate Sustainability Award 2023 held in Vietnam.
At DKSH, our purpose is to enrich people’s lives. We do so by providing reliable access to high-quality and responsible products and services, creating sustainable value for our partners, and contributing to raising the quality of life in the communities we operate in by generating jobs, perspectives, and opportunities for people’s development and growth.
