Refrigerated Cooling Systems (RCS)
Full line of cooling systems, designed and manufactured by TA Instruments,
specifically for our DSC’s, featuring the new RCS 120 three-stage refrigerated system capable of temperatures down to -120°C.

Air Chiller System (ACS)
The new Air Chiller System models offer unique gas flow cooling systems that provide the capability for sub-ambient testing without the use of liquid nitrogen. Available in two models, the ACS-2 and ACS-3, the chillers feature a multi-stage cascading compressor design that employs compressed air (7 bar, 200 l/min) as the cooling medium. The ACS-2 and ACS-3 models permit operation of the DMA 850 with Standard Furnace at temperatures as low as -50 °C and -100 °C respectively *. The chiller systems can help eliminate or reduce liquid nitrogen usage and associated hazards from any laboratory and offer an incredible return on investment. The ACS-2 and ACS-3 are also compatible with DMA3200, Discovery Hybrid Rheometer, ARES-G2 Rheometer, and RSA-G2 Solids Analyzer.

Available models

The Refrigerated Cooling System (RCS40) employs a single-stage refrigeration system, which permits convenient DSC/MDSC operation over the temperature range from -40 to 400°C.  Balistic cooling from 400°C to ambient is achieved in about 7 minutes.

 

The Refrigerated Cooling System (RCS90) employs a two-stage refrigeration system, which permits convenient DSC/MDSC operation over the temperature range from -90 to 550°C.  Balistic cooling from 500°C to ambient is achieved in about 7 minutes.

 

The Refrigerated Cooling System (RCS120) employs a three-stage refrigeration system, which permits convenient DSC/MDSC operation over the temperature range from ­-120°C to 400°C. This RCS120 enables cycling, controlled and ballistic cooling experiments, and is compatible with the Discovery Series DSC 2500, DSC 250, and DSC 25.

 

TA Instruments today announced the introduction of the ACS-2 Air Chiller System. Following on the tremendous popularity of the ACS-3, the ACS-2 is a mechanical refrigeration system that provides subambient temperature control for mechanical and rheological testing. Paired with a DMA850, DMA3200, Discovery Hybrid Rheometer, ARES-G2 Rheometer, or RSA-G2 Solids Analyzer, the ACS-2 provides reliable temperature control as low as -55°C without the use of liquid nitrogen.

The ACS-3 was introduced in response to our customers’ demand to perform low temperature mechanical measurements while avoiding the cost, safety concerns, and inconvenience associated with routine liquid nitrogen usage. The ACS-3 has been extremely popular with those customers. We are pleased to extend that product offering with the introduction of the ACS-2, which provides similar convenience within its range of operation, and at a lower investment cost than the ACS-3.
