Enriching People’s Lives by Honoring Sanitation Workers’ Contributions Articles

In the spirit of fostering awareness and respect for sanitation workers, DKSH partnered with the Shanghai Foreign Investment Association (SHFIA) in a heartwarming event dedicated to honoring and appreciating the invaluable contributions of sanitation workers in Shanghai, China.

In conjunction with the Chinese New Year festivities, the SHFIA Volunteer Service Committee along with volunteers, including our employees, came together to share meaningful moments with the sanitation workers. The program featured professional baristas who demonstrated and taught sanitation workers the art of coffee tasting, providing them with a unique opportunity to experience and understand the charm of coffee.

The workers embarked on a creative journey to make environmentally friendly handicrafts. Utilizing coffee grounds and other sustainable materials, the participants crafted items that not only showcased their artistic talents but also conveyed a powerful message of environmental consciousness. We also participated in the time-honored tradition of writing Spring Festival couplets.

Volunteers had the opportunity to share their life and work experiences, foster mutual understanding and respect, while forming emotional connections with the workers. We also presented New Year gift packs to the sanitation workers. These personal exchanges transcended professional boundaries, leaving an indelible mark on everyone involved.
