There is growing recognition among businesses worldwide that integrating sustainability into their operations is not only crucial for mitigating environmental impact, but also for ensuring long-term success and resilience in the face of global challenges such as climate change, resource scarcity, and social inequalities.

Sustainability practices in Asia are growing as companies adopt more ambitious sustainability goals and transparent reporting practices. With this, sustainability ratings have significant relevance in measuring and qualifying a company’s sustainability practices and performance; an indicator used by business partners, investors, consumers, and society.

In this respect, DKSH is proud to be recognized with the internationally renowned EcoVadis Gold Medal for the second year running in 2023. We are now ranked among the top 4% of all companies rated by EcoVadis, the world’s largest provider of business sustainability ratings, globally trusted with a methodology that is aligned with global frameworks and regulatory requirements.

Widely used to demonstrate a company’s credentials in sustainability, ratings are based on four main areas: the environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement.

The recognition is a result of our progress in sustainability efforts to achieve our four strategic sustainability objectives: Enable Our People to Flourish, Make Our Value Chains More Sustainable, Become Climate-Neutral by 2030, and Make a Positive Local Impact.

In 2023, we increased the percentage of women in senior leadership positions to 34%. This benchmarks strongly in our industry and the region.

We established a roadmap for supplier assessment as part of our responsible procurement practices, and published a Human rights Policy, reaffirming our commitment towards sustainable value chain. We achieved a 50% reduction in Scope 1+2 greenhouse gas emissions compared to our 2020 baseline, bringing us closer to our target of climate neutrality by 2030.

In addition, we launched a Social Impact Strategy and have organized over 94 local community projects. These efforts have resulted in us receiving the second EcoVadis Gold rating with an increased score.
