ColdBlock Technologies was incorporated in 2014 to introduce its innovative sample digestion technologies to global markets. It is the first sample digestion technology to use focused short-wave infrared radiation, which delivers exceptional performance even in difficult matrices.

The company has collaborated with governments, academia and industry to demonstrate its innovative solutions while elevating the efficiency, productivity and safety of sample digestion.

Challenge

To grow its business further, ColdBlock needed to expand its brand presence into Asia, where the scientific instrumentation market was growing at a faster rate as compared to its existing core markets.

Asia was also chalking up higher demand for research and development needs, largely supported by megatrends such as an increased middle class of consumer, growing population size and higher levels of education among the Asian population. There is also a high concentration of mining industry in the Asia Pacific region which is one of the key market segments for Coldblock.

Approach

As a start-up company, ColdBlock knows that it is critical to maintain stringent cost control when expanding into a new market. It decided to work with us – a proven distributor with a multi-market presence, established market coverage and distribution network to help create a foothold in the market quickly and efficiently.

Using market intelligence gathered from our customer relationship management system and a third party’s market data, they were able to prioritize the industries with the highest potential for it to penetrate.

Together with DKSH, they conducted digital marketing in local language while leveraging on social media, their website and a third-party market platform for better customer engagement.

They also showcased application and demonstration capabilities to position this new technology and highlight the key benefits in terms of higher cost efficiency and safety.

Result

Using this approach, ColdBlock Technologies was able to generate increased market awareness and publicity for its technology and services. It has since successfully entered several leading markets in the Asia Pacific region.
