Challenge

As DKSH Cambodia was not a well-known corporate brand among local young professionals, we were finding it challenging to attract local talent. The employment market was also very competitive with the increasing presence of multinational organizations and domestic corporations, particularly in the major cities.

Approach

We introduced a standardized approach to the recruitment processes, staff guidelines and performance measurements for our employees. Internally, we held more employee engagement activities including festival celebrations, activities with organizations in our local communities, employee development programs through DKSH’s in-house training and development center Fantree Academy, town hall meetings, sports competitions and recognizing employees with long-service awards.

Externally, we promoted our Employee Value Propositions to students and job seekers in the market through exhibitions at universities and national career fairs. Our Human Resources team also participated in industry events, conferences and career talks. Furthermore, we took advantage of the digital and social media platforms to highlight the history and successes of our organization.

We also participated in and won the Best Employer Brand Award 2019 organized by the World HRD Congress and Star of the Industry Group.

Result

As a result of our engagement activities and the recognition from winning the Best Employer Brand Award 2019, there has been an increase in awareness of DKSH as a company brand. More people and especially potential employees know what we do and what services we offer in Cambodia and beyond.
