Asiatic Agro Industry achieved success in 2016 when it first introduced an innovative method to bottle coconut milk. The milk is packed in a UV-resistant environmental friendly polyethylene terephthalate bottle utilizing a cold aseptic filling technology from France.  

Although it has operations in over 77 countries including in America, Europe and Australia, it needed help from an established partner who has in-depth knowledge of the Thai consumer goods market.

Challenge

The coconut milk market in Thailand is highly competitive with the presence of several well-established brands among the local consumers. Asiatic Agro needed a partner who could help them gain market presence.

Having recognized that Thailand was still a rapidly growing market for coconut milk, Asiatic Agro hoped to penetrate the market with its latest innovation, Amphawa Coconut Milk. It was the first brand in Thailand to use environmentally-friendly bottles instead of ultra-high temperature packaging used by most manufacturers.

Approach

We used our expertise as a one-stop-shop for FMCG in-store execution, as well as our long-established and good relationships with business owners across all trade channels in all regions of Thailand, to expand coverage of Amphawa Coconut Milk.

Using our extensive distribution network and an enhanced field marketing strategy for the client’s brand at customer touchpoints, the product was widely promoted through numerous activities including in-store sales promotion, brand activation activities and point-of-sales display.

A key advantage was our exceptional quality control which ensured that the specialized coconut milk bottles were transported safely and efficiently from our distribution center to the individual stores without risk of contamination or environmental exposure.

Result

Within a year of working with DKSH, Asiatic Agro recorded increased sales for its Amphawa Coconut Milk product. This generated substantial progress in brand awareness for the company and its portfolio of coconut-based products.

It was also important that this collaboration helped raised local consumer demand for coconut milk stored in polyethylene terephthalate bottle packaging.

Asiatic Agro has been focusing on manufacturing and exporting coconut products for the past 24 years. Thanks to DKSH and its extensive distribution networks, highly systematized operation and sales and marketing expertise, we were able to penetrate different trade channels within a short period of time, making our products available faster to consumers nationwide.
