Oral care for all in Myanmar

Challenge

Having recognized the growing market demand for oral care products in Myanmar, the client decided that the brand needed to increase its marketing and sales activities in both modern and general trade channels.

It also wanted to extend beyond its current strong presence in urban centers to more consumers across the country, especially those residing in the rural areas.

Approach

DKSH, with its vast experience in trade channels and strong distribution network in Myanmar, set out to first develop the relevant marketing campaigns to help increase brand awareness among the target consumers.

Attractive incentives programs including seasonal promotions and super saver offers were introduced in marketing and sales channels to push the brand’s products across the modern trade and general trade outlets in the country.

DKSH also leveraged on social media advertising to raise consumer awareness on oral care and raise customer engagement with the brand. Other branding activities implemented included billboards and advertising on the brand’s distribution vehicles.

The client also distributed samples to private schools and universities in Yangon to help raise awareness among young people on the importance and benefits of good oral care.

Result

Resulting from this partnership with DKSH, the client recorded an increase in sales in Myanmar, making the country the top sales performer among the brand’s other Southeast Asian markets.
