Thailand, following the footsteps of other global markets, is seeing an increased interest in the electric vehicle sector. As such, Thailand’s government is encouraging manufacturers to start production of hybrid EV parts in preparation for the launch of commercial EVs in the market by 2025.

Aligned with the government’s strategy, a leading electronics exporter and manufacturer of power supplies and electronic components has recently established a new automotive business division to provide reliable and efficient EV and hybrid EV powertrain solutions and power electronics components including onboard chargers and DC/DC converters.

Challenge

The customer required precise temperature control equipment that was able to test and inspect the automotive materials used in the production process.

While other vendors in the market were able to supply this equipment, our customer wanted a solution that can support a wide product range and was proven to be reliable and efficient. It also wanted to work with a partner that can deliver fast and capable after-sales and services.

Approach

As the customer needed a temperature control unit (TCU) to support testing automotive parts for fast temperature changes and high flow rates, we recommended LAUDA’s New Integral XT process thermostat that can fit the customer’s specification and productivity. LAUDA’s temperature control solutions are known to provide optimum temperature for research, production, and quality control.

We demonstrated to the customer that our staff has been trained by LAUDA on the equipment and solutions. In addition, we were able to offer 24 hours support on the technical and after-sales services to the customer which provided us with a competitive edge. Our past experiences working with clients from the automotive and electronics components industries worldwide also convinced the customer of our technical expertise and service excellence.

Result

We were able to promptly replace the customer’s existing units with the new equipment from LAUDA without disrupting the production process. The customer has also conveyed its satisfaction with the temperature control efficiency of the new equipment and continues to order more LAUDA products from us for various applications.

As we needed to keep pace with the growing electric vehicle sector in Thailand, we were impressed with the fast and efficient delivery of DKSH’s temperature control unit solutions. We are looking ahead to working with DKSH on other project implementations for our organization.
