DKSH helps to power up leading Indonesian bank’s data center

Challenge

As the bank did not have their own data center, the main challenge was to find a suitable partner to work with and one that understood the technicalities of data center technology and is familiar with the market’s financial regulations.

Another challenge for the bank was that due to the requirement for the center to be located in-house, there was limited space at its premises which they currently share with their affiliate company, Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI). BNI Syariah also required a different data center infrastructure from the present one owned by BNI.

Approach

To meet the bank’s requirements, DKSH recommended the Vertiv SmartAisle solution that fits perfectly in such limited space. This is a cost-effective data center system that optimizes infrastructure deployment and integrates data center racks, power, row cooling, aisle containment, monitoring and control technologies into one facility.

DKSH also gave the new data center a unique identity by giving the facility a white-colored finishing to differentiate it with BNI’s center. With this implementation, BNI Syariah became the first banking institution to successfully implement the Vertiv SmartAisle data center solution in Indonesia.

Result

In the coming years ahead, the bank is confident of achieving reduced energy consumption of up to 27 percent as compared to conventional data centers while having increased availability with cost-effective power distribution.
